Transit Agency Effectively Rolls Out New Wheelchair Securement
Manatee County Area Transit Installs Quantum for Pilot Program
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., (December 21, 2016) – Manatee County Area Transit (MCAT), based in Bradenton, FL, recently installed the QUANTUM wheelchair securement system (www.thequantumleap.com) on one of their buses for a six month pilot program. A seamless installation process has MCAT excited about rolling out the program to local commuters, specifically mobility riders. Use of the system is still picking up, but feedback has been overwhelmingly positive thus far. Commuters have expressed enthusiasm for the resulting reduced dwell times, which help keep them on schedule. Bus drivers have noted they are particularly fond of the independent securement capability, which allows them to engage and disengage the system from the comfort of their seat.
“I was very pleased with the installation process and the attention to detail presented by the team at Q’Straint. Not only were they focused on the product, but also on our facility and personnel.” –James Egbert, Transportation Operations Chief
Many local transit agencies have expressed interest in the state-of-the-art securement system, realizing its array of potential benefits. As an early adopter, MCAT will serve as a valuable resource to these agencies that are eager to learn more about QUANTUM.
