Dan Allison visits Q’STRAINT to bring Home the First Q’MANITARIAN Award
Dan Allison, a highly acclaimed Occupational Therapist (OTR) and driver rehabilitation trainer at the Shepherd Center, visited the Q’STRAINT/Sure-Lok South Florida headquarters to formally receive the inaugural Q’MANITARIAN award.
What’s the Q’MANITARIAN Award?
The idea behind the Q’MANITARIAN award was first hatched by Patrick Girardin, Q’STRAINT/Sure-Lok president with help from his leadership team to pay tribute to a transportation safety professional who has displayed extraordinary dedication, devotion, and passion by matching the company’s vision of making safety accessible.
“It means so much to me to not only win the Q’MANITARIAN award, but more importantly be recognized by a company as respected as Q’STRAINT,” said Allison. “I thoroughly enjoyed the entire event from the award ceremony to the facility tour. This was a very special day for me.”

Allison was presented with the company’s Q’MANITARIAN award in a storied setting by the Q’STRAINT Wall of Excellence.
A Special Visitor attends the Award Celebration
Jim Kennedy, a close friend and fellow co-worker of Allison’s at the Shepherd Center, paid a visit to Q’STRAINT to cheer on his cohort. Allison considers Kennedy to be one of the very best driver rehabilitation specialists in the industry.
“There will be a tremendous void at the Shepherd Center when Allison leaves,” said Kennedy, referring to his ensuing retirement. “But his hard work, compassion, industry knowledge and sheer talent will leave a lasting impression in the industry and through his efforts he greatly advanced the way mobility drivers and riders are trained today.”
