Q’STRAINT COMENZÓ CON UNA SENCILLA PREGUNTA:
¿Cómo pueden los pasajeros en sillas de ruedas estar seguros en los vehículos?
En la década de 1970, un equipo de estudiantes y especialistas de la Queen University de Ontario, Canadá, se propuso encontrar la respuesta.
Su investigación demostró que los pasajeros en silla de ruedas tienen unas necesidades específicas de seguridad que requieren unas soluciones específicas de seguridad que no existían en aquel momento. De este modo, el equipo de investigación desarrolló el primer sistema del mundo de aseguramiento completamente integrada de 4 puntos para pasajeros en silla de ruedas. Q’STRAINT fue el primero en introducir este innovador sistema en el sector del transporte mundial.
En la actualidad, Q’STRAINT continúa avanzando a partir esta tradición de innovación, trabajando en su misión de proporcionar accesibilidad segura para todos a través del desarrollo de soluciones de seguridad de la más alta calidad mundial para pasajeros en silla de ruedas.
HITOS DE LA COMPAÑÍA
1984
Q’STRAINT se establece cuando la Quenn’s University licencia su sistema integrado de aseguramiento de 4 puntos para pasajeros en silla de ruedas y Q’Straint presenta el sistema en el mercado. Se abre la primera oficina de Q’STRAINT en Cambridge, Ontario, Canadá.
1985
Q’STRAINT es la primera empresa de seguridad en aplicar el «test del trineo» para probar los cinturones de seguridad automotriz utilizados en los sistemas de aseguramiento de pasajeros en silla de ruedas.
1987
Se amplía el alcance global de Q’STRAINT con el establecimiento de un distribuidor local en Queensland, Australia.
1991
La Administración Nacional de Seguridad del Tráfico en las Carreteras (NHTSA) solicita a Q’STRAINT que contribuya con su experiencia al desarrollo de las normas de transporte de sillas de ruedas en la Ley de Estadounidenses con Discapacidades (ADA).
1993
Q’STRAINT abre una oficina en Whitstable, Reino Unido, para satisfacer la creciente demanda internacional en Europa, Oriente Medio, Asia y África.
1996
Q’STRAINT se convierte en la primera y única compañía de aseguramiento de sillas de ruedas en obtener el registro ISO 9000.
1997
Q’STRAINT traslada su sede de América del Norte a Fort Lauderdale, Florida, que presta servicios a América del Norte y del Sur. En Cambridge, Ontario, permanece un centro de ventas y distribución que proporciona servicios locales al mercado canadiense.
1999
Q’STRAINT desarrolla y presenta al mercado el primer sistema de aseguramiento de pasajeros en silla de ruedas autotensante y autobloqueante del mundo.
2004
Los productos Q’STRAINT se utilizan en vehículos paratránsito en los Juegos Paralímpicos de Atenas.
2005
Q’STRAINT UK obtiene la designación de «Inversor en personas», en reconocimiento a su compromiso con la capacitación y el desarrollo del personal.
2007
Q’STRAINT UK gana el prestigioso Premio de la Reina en Comercio Internacional, como reconocimiento por su importante crecimiento en las exportaciones a más de 40 países.
2008
Los productos Q’STRAINT se utilizan en vehículos paratránsito en los Juegos Paralímpicos de Beijing.
2009
Q’STRAINT celebra 25 años de actividad.
2012
Q’STRAINT lanza la estación de acoplamiento QLK-150, la primera estación de acoplamiento que supera las especificaciones de la prueba de choque según los estándares WC18/19.
2014
Q’STRAINT celebra sus 30 años de compromiso constante con la industria de la seguridad para sillas de ruedas con la inauguración de las instalaciones del iQ Research Center of Excellence, avanzando todavía más en la innovación tecnológica para soluciones de seguridad para pasajeros en silla de ruedas.
2015
Q’STRAINT da una vuelta completa al sector (literalmente) al presentar CUANTUM, la primera estación de aseguramiento de transporte completamente automática orientada hacia atrás.
